New Microlights & Nanolights

There is nothing quite like buying a new aircraft! You get to choose the exact make and model that best suits your needs and desires, you can pick your own colour scheme, add options and accessories to help personalise and make your aircraft that something special. Taking delivery of an aircraft from new also means you have the opportunity to look after and maintain the aircraft to the highest possible standard from day one onwards and as such you can expect to log many hours of hassle free flying.

We are currently experiencing some supply issues with new microlight aircraft. Airborne have been the main stay of microlight flying in Australia for the past few decades, however late 2022 and we see Airborne pull out of manufacturing. A sign of the times in a post-COVID world and in particular in a country that continues to overregulate.

Ukraine manufacturer, Aeros have found favour in Australia with their line up of quality microlights and in particular their ANT nanolight trikes. The ANT is one of my personal favourite trikes to fly! However with Ukraine under attack from the Russians, production has slowed and time delays have become the norm. Sad times for the microlight industry in Australia, but we do our best and continue to look for ways to supply our market with quality microlight aircraft.

When buying a new microlight or nanolight there is no better place than Adelaide Airsports. We test fly and tune your wing to perfection, we teach you to correctly transport, assemble, store and maintain it to the highest of standards. If you are a local pilot we can organise hangarage at Strathalbyn Airfield, introduce you to a keen group of pilots and encourage you in each step of your flying. If you are from a country area or interstate then we will do our best to help you find other local pilots in your area, and keep in touch to make sure all is going well with your flying.

Used Microlights & Nanolights

If a new aircraft is out of the question then there is the used market from which to choose a suitable aircraft. There are a lot of aircraft out there, some are in excellent condition, well maintained and represent great value for money, but of course there is also the opposite end of the scale.  It is a lot like buying a used car; there are traps for young players! If you are new to the sport and buying your first microlight or nanolight then you should rely heavily on your instructor for good advice as to what is available, what will suit your needs and above all what is a good, safe reliable aircraft. As much as I would like everybody to purchase their aircraft from Adelaide Airsports I would encourage students to work closely with their local instructor when buying their first aircraft and if possible to buy (be it new or used) through their local instructor/flying school. If, however your local flying school is unable to supply a suitable aircraft then there is a good chance that Adelaide Airsports can help you find what you are looking for.

We only sell used aircraft that we know the history of and can give an honest appraisal of. Used aircraft we list for sale are in our hangars at Strathalbyn, fully rigged, safety checked, test flown and ready to fly.
